Mark 6:45-52 “ A Season of Struggling “

Mark 6:45–52 (KJV 1900)

45 And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people. 46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray. 47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land. 48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. 49 But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out: 50 For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid. 51 And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. 52 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.

“ A Season of Struggling “

The Disciples are in a Season of Struggling in verses 45-49

1st: They are separated from the Savior

2nd: They stranded in the Storm

3rd: They are scared of what they See

But remember things don’t stay the SAME

You have found yourself

In a season of Struggle

Because

You can’t shop where you use to shop

You’re not living like you use to live

You give but your giving is not like it use to be

Your health is not like it use to be

Your resources is not like it use to be

Seasons Change

Question: How can I come to church and make it through this season of struggling

When I’m fighting cancer

Having children in trouble

Having bills that are building

Having Finances that fleeing

1st Remember the Lord Sees you in your struggle ( V 48 )

Mark 6:48 (KJV 1900)

48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

The Lord sees you in your struggle

He sees the TEARS you are crying

He sees the FLOORS you are walking

He sees the BURDENS you are carrying

He sees the ENEMIES that’s surrounding you

He see the HATERS on your job

He sees the DITCH DIGGERS

He sees the ROCK THROWERS that’s throwing rocks & hiding their hand

He sees the BACK STABBERS

Verse 48 — “ He saw them “

Note: Let me tell you about the top 4 animals that have Exceptional Vision

The Ostrich is # 4 with Exceptional Vision

The Ostrich eyes is the largest eyes of any animal on earth

The eyes of the Ostrich is larger than the Ostrich brain

The Ostrich eyes can see over 2 and 1/2 miles

The Eagle is # 3 with Exceptional Vision

The Eagle has an eye within it’s eye which allows it to look lateral & straight ahead at the same time

The Eagle eye is so exceptional while it’s flying hundreds of feet in the air it can look down beneath the water surface and see a fish swimming and fly down and pick it up

The Hawk is # 2 with Exceptional Vision

The Hawk can see ultraviolet colors which makes it a hunter at night because a Hawk can pick up colors even in the darkest of settings

The Mountain Goat is # 1 with Exceptional Vision

The Mountain Goat has exceptional vision for two reason

1st A Mountain Goat can see 8 times further than a human being

2nd A Mountain Goat can almost see in a 360 degree angle standing still

But all these animals

With exceptional vision

Is runner-ups to the ultimate vision of our Lord Jesus Christ

Proverbs 15:3 (KJV 1900)

3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Beholding the evil and the good.

And this answers a whole lot of questions

How have you survive all the HELL you’ve been thru — The Lord eyes

Why the accident didn’t take you out — The Lord eyes

The cancer you survive — The Lord eyes

Why the club life didn’t kill you — The Lord eyes

Why the Drugs didn’t kill you — The Lord eyes

Thank God for His eyes !!!!!

Verse 48 — “ He saw them “

Saw ( Grk ) — means perceive, to know

The Lord don’t just see

But He knows

You ever felt like

You was going thru something

And NOBODY understood

What you was going thru

You know why some people

Even close to you like

Family & Friends can’t understand you

Is because they are not

Seeing your situation with “ YOUR EYES “

They can Sympathize with you

But they can’t Empathize with you

Because Sympathize is saying “ My feelings go out to you “

But Empathize says “ I’ve been down that exact road “

The Lord sees

Story : A Pastor had a member that was always yelling at the wrong time in the service and the church got together and went to the Pastor because they was upset that this man didn’t know when to shout. This man wasn’t shouting doing the Praise & Worship he was shouting doing the [ offering - discipleship call - announcements ] Because this man remember for offering he was broke and homeless BUT now he got money. This man remember doing the discipleship call when he was a sinner but the Lord SAVED him. This man remember doing the announcements that the church didn’t announce the DATE & TIME of his funeral the Lord had spared his life so many times [ They didn’t know your story ]

Story: The Pastor told the sister to walk around the church 3 times with a cup of water

You have 12 disciples

In a ship

Rowing together

And what 12 men

Couldn’t do together

Jesus comes thru “ WALKING “ on the water

They are Struggling with 3 things

1st The Water

2nd The Wind

3rd The Watch

The Water

They are being Toss

The Fourth Watch

Between 3am - 6am

1st. Watch — 6pm— 9pm 3rd. Watch — 12am — 3am

2nd. Watch — 9pm — 12am 4th. Watch — 3am — 6am

But Jesus comes

Walking on the Water

The water is over the disciples heads

But it’s under Jesus feet

The fourth watch of the night

Is between 3am-6am morning

It’s this time traditionally

The phones don’t ring

And no one is knocking or coming to your house

It’s a lonely time in the morning

And a vulnerable time in the morning

But Jesus showed up

When no one else showed up

3rd Remember the Lord has Supplied you before your Struggle ( V 52 )

Mark 6:52 ESV

52 for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

1 — Jewish loaf feeds 3 people

They have 5 loafs that can feed 15 people

So they need another 1,669 loafs of bread

to feed the other 4,985 people
